Match v Brockenhurst College 6th March 2016

On a busy golfing weekend, with girls out at Regional training and  Girls Golf Rocks as Ambassadors at 3  of the Taster session, we only fielded a small team, thinking that the Brockenhurst College boys would all have handicaps under 10, as has been the case in the past.  Play was 4BBB of the new 90% difference in handicap.  The girls had to give the shots!

The first game started with the girls either being one up , or all square, but by the 11th the boys managed to get 2 up. With great determination, and a birdie on the 12 by Katie, they were all square after the 16th. The boys managed a birdie on 17th to make them dormy 1 up  and then with another birdie on 18th the boys sealed the match to a win . Katy and Adrian blended well and played some excellent holes during the game.

In the other game, which was again close, and where Katie had to give 14 shots to one of the boys, play swung between being 2 up or 2 down. Some of Becca’s shots were a bit wide, but she usually managed to retrieve shoot the ball back onto  the fairway with her next shot  and  close enough to do some great chip shots on to the green. By the 12th it was all square, however, the boys managed to win/halve the next 4 holes to win on 16th. Katie had an excellent game throughout, and played to handicap, but giving 14 shots proved  to a person who on several occasions parred a whole,  proved to be too much of a task.
9.41 Adrian Mylrea 4 and Katy Mackworth Praed  5

9.51 Katie Biddlecombe 13 and Becca M-P 14
