Centenary Foursomes

Thursday 11 AUGUST
Hartley Wintney Golf Club

Centenary_Foursomes_Winners_LR46 clubs, including some from Jersey and the IOW, sent their winning pairs to Hartley Wintney for the final of the Centenary Foursomes.

Strategically placed ditches and water hazards, especially on the back nine caught many out as for some ladies this was their first visit to the lovely north Hampshire course.  Ladies’ captain Julie Rumsby had her ladies in pink well positioned out on the course locating the ball after stray shots, as to paraphrase a famous quote, it definitely was “a course of two halves”.

With lovely conditions all day and only a slight breeze to assist, several high scores were produced but the cream rose to the top and it was Rowlands Castle who emerged victorious. Huge congratulations to Janet Doel and Diana Littler who carded an excellent 38 points, 4 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Sarah Thresh and Paula Hill from Blackmoor.
