Teenage golf ambassador Warren Clark, from Hampshire, has been selected for Team GB for the 2019 Special Olympics Word Summer Games in Abu Dhabi.
Warren, who has autism and learning difficulties, commented: “I feel very proud and special to have been selected. I feel very privileged to be part of it.”
The 17-year-old will use the experience to help him spread the word that golf is a great game for all. For Warren, a six-handicapper, is passionate about golf and sharing it with other people, particularly those with disabilities.
He’s making his mark in many ways. He’s an ambassador for England Golf and the Golf Foundation, helping to change perceptions about the sport and get more, younger people playing. He has his own charity, Warren Clark Golfing Dreams and takes Tri-Golf and StreetGolf and SNAG (Starting New at Golf) out into the community, working with disabled and disadvantaged people and families. He’s also a past winner of the England Golf Young Volunteer of the Year Award.
