Bramshaw Golf Club
18 hole stableford – max handicaps: men 28 & ladies 36
34 pairs turned out to play the magnificent Manor Course at Bramshaw today in bright sunshine and all praised the course and the playing format of Greensomes. The pace was set by Bramshaw captains Kate Ratcliffe and Mark Bolton with County Captain Kay Walshe and her Hockley partner Mike Eames, who were started by Kate’s husband Howard Ratcliffe. He then did a quick change and played at the end of the field so our thanks go to Kate and Howard for all their efforts and for organising the many Bramshaw members acting as valuable ball spotters.
This was a jointly organised event with the men from HGU and our thanks to President John Moore, County Secretary David Wheeler and the two County referees Tony Child and Brian Overton for keeping play moving along out on the course.
The staff at Bramshaw including Anna, Andy and Amanda were a tremendous help and the carvery meal was excellent afterwards.
Prizes were generous this year, once again thanks to County Treasurer Judy Andrews and to the fact that there were 20 more pairs playing this year, so congratulations to all our winners with the final scores very close at the top. Hopefully the word is getting out and the field may be even more next year as this is proving a popular event.
Scooping first place and taking the trophies this year were Sara and Rod Barnes from Romsey with 42 points and winning by 1 point from 3 couples on 41.
Thank you to everyone for entering and making this event such a relaxed and fun event.
