We’re delighted to inform you that Hampshire Ladies Golf has been awarded the SafeGolf standard by England Golf.
We’ve always been committed to creating and maintaining a safe, positive and enjoyable environment for everyone involved in golf, and we worked through the SafeGolf process to demonstrate that commitment by achieving the standards set by the SafeGolf partnership in safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk in the sport of golf. Our Safeguarding Officer, Liz Williams, said she was delighted that we had met the required standard and she hoped that this would encourage golf clubs across Hampshire to follow suit and also gain the SafeGolf standard. She added that the England Golf process was relatively straightforward and easy to follow and there was plenty of support available. Jill England, Hampshire Ladies newly appointed County Captain, said she was thrilled to receive this SafeGolf award and wanted to thank Safeguarding Officer, Liz Williams, and Governance Director, Eilean Cunningham, for their hard work and commitment in ensuring HLG had met the required standards. Jill went on to say that HLG were committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf. She reinforced the importance of maintaining these standards and hoped that other golf clubs within Hampshire would soon follow suit.
