Hampshire Ladies Golf

Board Vacancies

Do you want to get more involved with County Golf?

Hampshire Ladies Golf (HLG) is run entirely by volunteers, all from different backgrounds, golf experiences and playing abilities, but we share one common goal: giving something back to golf!

We are always on the lookout for new people, with fresh ideas, willing to become more involved with County golf and to join our collaborative team.  We have a wide-ranging remit in terms of what we do, shown here, and everyone is genuinely committed to helping shape the future of women and girls golf in Hampshire.

We have two Board Member positions to fill in the New Year. These are:

Competitions Director - currently filled by Noan Nicol who steps up to become next year’s Vice Captain. Noan is responsible for planning and running our annual programme of county events (both individual and club knock-out competitions), including the County Championships, reviewing our competition rules and ensuring we have enough officials in place for each event.  She is ably assisted by an experienced sub-committee, but a broad understanding of our annual competitions cycle and prior working experience with Intelligent Golf (IG) would be advantageous. Her job description is shown here

County Secretary - currently filled by Frances Crummay who is sadly stepping down due to family commitments. Frances has a pivotal role in managing our administrative affairs, maintaining our Board and AGM records and acting as our focal point for key communication and engagement with our club delegates, including our Channel Islands and Isle of Wight representatives. The role requires regular interaction with our Board Members and Appointed Officers and the post-holder must be IT literate and ideally comfortable with MicroSoft 365 and Intelligent Golf.  Ongoing training and support will be provided.  Her job description is shown here

Interested??

If either of these roles spark an interest and you would like more information, please either contact Sarah Deacon or the current post holders for an informal chat and an honest view about the role and how much voluntary time is required.  We recognise that everyone has busy lives, especially golfers, and we certainly don’t want any of our voluntary roles to be all-consuming.

The deadline for formal nominations is 30 November 2024.
