Captain Eilean takes the helm!

It's all change at the top for Hampshire Ladies Golf!  After Friday's AGM, Mary Rook (Alresford GC) has become our new County President and Noan Nicol (Stoneham GC) has stepped up to become our County Vice-Captain. Anne Lloyd (Liphook GC) has been elected as our new Competitions Director and Jill England (Alresford GC), a familiar face to many of you, has been appointed as our new County Secretary. She takes over from Frances Crummay (North Hants GC) who has sadly stepped down after nearly 3 years.  We will miss you Frances - thank you for everything you have done for HLG behind the scenes.

We also bade farewell to two super outgoing Captains, Julie Cole (Romsey GC) and Allena Doley (Alresford GC) for managing our Seniors' and Veterans' teams so admirably over the last two years. They have been replaced by Diane Oram (Basingstoke GC) and Alison Cox (Hayling GC) respectively; good luck ladies - two excellent choices.  Carron Schusler (Hayling GC) completes the new line-up as Chief Referee, a new position.

After 2 years as County Vice Captain, Eilean Cunningham (North Hants GC) is now at the helm.  She said she was incredibly proud and deeply honoured to accept the role of County Captain – particularly in our 125th year - and she sent the following message: 

'As your Captain, my aim is simple: to represent our County with pride, promote the game we all love, and ensure that every golfer – whether seasoned veterans or rising stars – feels inspired and supported. I’m looking forward to working closely with my fellow Board members and appointed officers, and of course meeting you, our members. I'm keen to visit as many clubs across the county (including our friends on the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands) over the next 2 years.  Please continue to enter our events; we can all play a part in strengthening our team spirit and celebrating success at every level. 

I encourage all of you to embrace the game, support each other and enjoy the friendships that golf brings us.  After all, golf is more than just a sport; it’s a shared passion that connects us all.  It’s an absolute honour to stand alongside you as we embark on this exciting journey together'.
